Understanding the National Redress Scheme

The National Redress Scheme was created to acknowledge and address the trauma experienced by survivors of institutional child sexual abuse. This Australian government initiative offers three main types of support:

  • Financial Redress: Compensation acknowledging the harm suffered.

  • Access to Counseling and Psychological Services: Professional support to assist in your recovery.

  • A Personal Response: An opportunity to receive an apology or other direct response from the institution responsible.

To apply for the National Redress Scheme, you can begin the process here.

Additionally, free support services are available to assist you throughout the application process, providing guidance, emotional support, and practical help. Access these free support services here.
