Approaches to Therapy

Psychologists have their own styles of treatment and adopt different therapeutical approaches.

I am adaptable in my approach to treatment with each unique client, to create a safe and affirming environment.

My style of treatment is evidence-based, adopting an eclectic mix of the below approaches, based on the needs of the client and the circumstances.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of staying present and aware of the current moment, reducing stress and fostering emotional balance.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, commonly used for anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT is a mindfulness-based therapy that encourages emotional acceptance while fostering actions aligned with personal values, ideal for anxiety, depression, and identity challenges.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a skills-based therapy designed to help individuals regulate emotions, build healthier relationships, and manage stress, particularly effective for mood disorders and trauma.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy that uses guided eye movements to process and resolve distressing memories, ideal for PTSD and identity-related trauma.
